It was October 2024. We had just suffered the loss of our beloved cat, the survivor of a bonded pair that held a very special places in our hearts. The house felt a little too quiet.
After many, many searches, we came across another bonded pair who needed something special—understanding, patience, and a home willing to give them both.
We filled out the paperwork, scheduled our “meet and greet,” and soon found ourselves sitting there, quietly admiring two tuxedo kitties as a volunteer gently coaxed them out of their room with the irresistible lure of Churu™.
The adoption coordinator smiled and said,
“They are never going to be lap cats.”
I replied,
“Oh, I don’t need lap cats. I just need cats in the house.”
Well… that might have been a tiny bit of a lie.
(Not intentional, of course. I just never imagined that a year later they might still be… untouchable.)
And so here we are—the story of Totti and Wallace.
Sharing our home, sharing our hearts… while they continue to keep us at a distance.
